This fall, one of the most exciting exhibitions in recent memory arrives: a survey of the paintings, drawings, and sculptures of the great June Leaf (1929-2024). One of the finest artists of her generation, Leaf was also, for decades, a crucial and beloved figure in the cultural lives of both New York City and Mabou, Nova Scotia, the two places where she and her husband, the photographer and filmmaker Robert Frank, made their homes.
