Cajal’s Legacy: Memory, Mind, and Consciousness

In conjunction with the exhibition The Beautiful Brain: The Drawings of Santiago Ramón y Cajal

Speakers Stephen T. Casper, Associate Professor in History of Science, Clarkson University, and Wendy Suzuki, Professor of Neural Science and Psychology, NYU, will explore how changes to the brain can impact memory, mind, and consciousness, examining both Cajal’s groundbreaking contributions and the ethical and cultural implications of current work in the area.

Co-sponsored by the New York Academy of Medicine and NYU’s Department of Art History, Center for Neural Science, and Grey Art Gallery.
