Networking Event and Q & A Session (In-person)
From Margin to Center: NYU Alumni in the Arts

NYU’s Grey Art Gallery invites you to join us for “From Margin to Center: NYU Alumni in the Arts.” This event is open to all NYU students of color and their allies interested in pursuing careers in the arts, as well as NYU alumni working in galleries, museums, and other visual arts institutions in New York City.

“From Margin to Center: NYU Alumni in the Arts” seeks to center the experiences of historically and currently marginalized groups working in the arts industry. This includes but is not limited to those who identify as Black, Indigenous, or people of color (BIPOC) and those who are first-generation.

The evening will start with a networking hour for students and alumni, followed by a Q&A moderated by Ilk Yasha, Ph.D., with a panel featuring:

Jasmine Buckley, Independent Curator (NYU Gallatin ’22)

Christina De Leon, Associate Curator of U.S. Latino Design, Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum (NYU GSAS, Museum Studies ’10)

Daonne Huff, Director, Public Programs and Community Engagement, Studio Museum in Harlem (NYU Steinhardt, Visual Arts Administration ’13)

Jenée-Daria Strand, Assistant Curator, Public Art Fund (NYU GSAS, Museum Studies ’22)

Light refreshments will be served. Masks are encouraged but not required.

Co-sponsored by the Center for Multicultural Education and Programs, NYU; The Graduate Program in Museum Studies at NYU; The Institute of Fine Arts, NYU; Department of Art and Art Professions, NYU Steinhardt; and the Gallatin School of Individualized Study.
