Panel Discussion

More Than Documentation: Photography and Performance

Wednesday, September 25, 6:30 pm

Kimmel Center, NYU, 60 Washington Square South, Rosenthal Pavilion, 10th Floor

This panel discussion will bring together an array of artists—working in the visual arts, music, theater, education, and political and community activism—to examine connections between performance art and participatory images. Addressing the integral role of such images in their work, speakers will highlight the notion of radical performance art and examine how it has shaped the contemporary art landscape. Moderated by Deborah Willis, University Professor and Chair of Photography and Imaging, TSOA, NYU, with Derrick Adams, Terry Adkins, Holly Bass, Xaviera Simmons, and Danny Tisdale.

Co-sponsored by NYU’s Department of Photography and Imaging.

Free of charge, no reservations, seating is limited.
