Directed by Tomas Gutiérrez Alea, Juan Carlos Tabio, featuring Vladimir Crus, Jorge Perugorria. Rated R. 110 minutes. With English subtitles. Set in contemporary Cuba, this film tells the story of the deep friendship that develops between David, a straight political-science student and devoted Communist who knows nothing about the arts, and cultured Diego, a gay artist who is brimming with life and ideas. First Cuban film ever nominated for a Best Foreign Film Oscar.
