The Golden Hour
In conjunction with the exhibition Moving Pictures: American Art and Early Film, 1880–1910
Exhibition on view: September 13–October 28, 2006
Opening reception: Wednesday, September 13, 6–8 pm
The term “golden hour” denotes the ephemeral moment of perfect cinematic twilight. From stereoscopes to soundtracks, many of the contemporary artists in this exhibition draw upon early film techniques to imagine new possibilities for the moving picture. Guest curated by Susanna Cole and Erin Donnelly.
