Creating Art with Recycled Materials with Artist Momar Seck
Join celebrated artist Momar Seck as he takes you through the process of giving objects a new life by creating art with recycled materials.
Originally from Senegal and Switzerland, Momar Seck is a visual artist, painter, and sculptor. He is a graduate of the Ecole Nationale des Arts in Dakar and received a scholarship from the Swiss Federal Commission for Culture for the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Geneva. He obtained a doctorate in Fine Arts from the University of Strasbourg in 2012. Seck has earned many awards including the UNESCO Prize for the promotion of visual arts. He exhibits regularly in Europe and Senegal, and has participated in exhibitions in France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Switzerland (Palais des Nations, Rath Museum in Geneva, Kunsthalle in Bern), the United States, and Cuba, among others.
Momar Seck’s work will be on view at La Maison Française from April 17 to 21, with the exhibition United Colors of Africa: Environments.
