WATCH: Virtual Tour of “Taking Shape: Abstraction from the Arab World, 1950s–1980s”

Longform Content

Created by and featuring Saga Beus

We are proud to present this short narrated tour of the Grey Art Gallery’s exhibition Taking Shape: Abstraction from the Arab World, 1950s–1980s, created by Saga Beus, graduate intern at the Grey Art Gallery who received an M.A. in NYU’s Museum Studies Program in May 2020. Using both images of individual works of art and installation shots, she discusses the wide range of nonfigurative art practices that flourished in North Africa, West Asia, and the Arab diaspora over the course of four decades. Closed captions available.
