Exciting News: Unveiling the Transformation of Grey Art Gallery into Grey Art Museum, NYU!

After nearly 50 years as the Grey Art Gallery, NYU, we are delighted to officially announce our evolution into the Grey Art Museum, NYU—now located at 18 Cooper Square!

Our new name more clearly expresses our role as a university museum committed to producing scholarly exhibitions and publications, while stewarding, interpreting, and providing access to the over 6,000 works in the NYU Art Collection.

With this transformation, here’s a glimpse of what to expect:

1. Grand Reopening on March 1
Join us on Friday, March 1, 2024, 5:00–8:00 pm, to celebrate the opening of the Grey Art Museum and the inaugural exhibition, Americans In Paris: Artists Working in Postwar France: 1946–1962. Save the date and stay tuned for your invitation—coming soon!

2. New Logo and Online Presence
We are rolling out our new branding on our website and across our social media platforms. We’re excited to unveil a fresh look that combines an abstracted calligraphic form and a modern typeface to reflect both our artistic roots and our engagement with contemporary concerns.

3. Updated Website and Email Addresses
As part of our rebranding, our website will be moving from greyartgallery.nyu.edu to greyartmuseum.nyu.edu. Similarly, our email address has changed from greyartgallery@nyu.edu to greyartmuseum@nyu.edu—effective immediately. Please update your contact information to stay connected with us. Our old email and website addresses will remain active temporarily during this transition.

4. Resuming Regular Hours
Starting Saturday, March 2, 2024, we will be open to the public on the following days:

Tuesday: 11 am–6 pm
Wednesday: 11 am–8 pm
Thursday: 11 am–6 pm
Friday: 11 am–6 pm
Saturday: 11 am–5 pm
Sunday: Closed
Monday: Closed
