In New York University’s Grey Art Museum lies an homage to Berthe Weill (1865-1951), a 20th-century Parisian art dealer who was regarded by many of her contemporaries as the “Mother of Modern Art.” From 1901 to 1941, Berthe Weill showcased the works of several then-unknown artists, putting her faith in their talent and taking enormous risks.
